Asian Kung Fu Generation

You gotta love this group - they're japanese, they're rock - 'nuf said :-P

This song was one of the recent opening themes for one of my favorite anime - Bleach. I find that the chorus is often looping in my head - it's just so catchy!

It's called "After Dark". Enjoy. Your Welcome.

The intervals between the back of my shadow are cutting off and breaking. They're running away.
I skip over the peeling flowers unnoticed as they fall down.
A sweet smelling fragrance flows out of a street corner.
And from far off in the distance I seem to hear a crying voice.

My faint hope is carried away in the night wind.
Won't it reach to anywhere?
As if refusing this world is swaying
And it's like everything snatched away
If this is a dream then I'll awaken however
We are still going without any accomplishments.

As if breaking off my midday laziness, I float upon my attitude
And fly as I try to look down upon newly formed cloud
There's the preferable smell of blood far off in the distant street corner
And I seem to hear a crying voice coming from everywhere

The deep redness flows thickly
And the moon appears to be on the verge of falling down
I want to get rid of these nonsensical days
So that I can continue with an innocent look

My faint hope is carried away in the night wind.
Won't it reach to anywhere?
As if refusing this world is swaying
And it's like everything snatched away
If this is a dream then I'll awaken however
We are still going without any accomplishments.

Metal Gear Solid 4!

Solid Snake has now become "Old Snake" - wrinkles galore!

What a game! I have yet to complete it, but so far this game is all that I hoped it would be (graphically and gameplay-wise). The only thing that I find boring about the game are the sometimes super-long cut-scenes and cinematic sequences - not because it's visually boring, but because it has too much substance and back-story that I find hard to follow (since I really have not kept up with the story line since Metal Gear Solid 1). The game has interesting aspects - like being able to view flashbacks during the cut-scenes, being able to change your point of view to see what Snake's eyes see (also during the cut-scenes), and the hilarious "psyche" meter (which drains every time Snake's self-esteem takes a hit). I've also reached a part of the game where it momentarily allowed me to "flashback" to the actual Metal Gear Solid 1 gameplay (graphics, controls and all - it was cool) - but once I died in the level I chose to get back to MGS4 style gaming :-P

These are the B and B's - Beauty and the Beast Corps - they are level bosses that need to be killed in MGS4 - I've killed 3 out of the 4 - the last one will be the toughest - but they're all a bitch to kill - and I'm even playing "Liquid Easy" difficulty level! Sheesh!

Wow...first GTA 4, now MGS 4 - the games of 2008 have been kick-ass ^_^ I'm so glad I have a PS3!

What I'd really like to get into after this - Guitar Hero and Rock Band :-D Also, I saw a commercial on TV yesterday about some kind of similar music game for the Nintendo DS - it's like you attach buttons to the underside (key-presses), and use the touch screen and a guitar pick for strumming. Neat idea! I'd like to have a go at that.

So many fun gamey-things to do...so little time!

I wish Gameworks was still around - I miss air hockey :-( If anyone knows where we can play air hockey on island, let me know ;-D

Lani tagged me!

Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 15 weird, random things, facts, habits, or goals about yourself. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment (”you’re it”) stating to read your blog. You can’t tag the person who tagged you. Since you can’t tag me back, let me know when you’ve posted your blog so I can see your answer.

So here are my answers:

1. At one point in my life I sat down and seriously pondered about how many times I could have died - and the number I came up with was 6. I have since forgotten what those exact near-fatal moments were, but all I know is that I'm sure it's 6 times.

2. I think I am very lazy when it comes to doing some things - if some task can be done faster or easier, I will opt to get things over and done with ASAP. If it can't and I'm not in the mood to be patient, I will bitch and whine the whole time, if not aloud, then in my head and through my facial expressions.

3. I love game cheats. Again, it's due to the lack of patience to beat a game without cheats.

4. I have Depression and Anxiety, Panic Disorder, ADD and OCD. OCD - My routine is to get to work a full one and a half hours early to find a good parking spot. My 3-11 shift time NEVER has parking. Coming early is a must, but I get to work extremely early because I try to get a spot in the first row. If I don't park in the first row, there is an 80% chance that my day will be ruined somehow. The more farther away I park, the higher the number goes. Really...I believe I am doomed for the entire day. ADD - I need extra time to compensate for my ADD - I have modified my behaviors and I go to work early to get some PREP-TIME in before the shift starts. I am currently not depressed. Anxiety - To reduce anxiety, I do things slowly. I HATE BEING RUSHED. Thus, going to work early helps reduce anxiety. Panic Disorder - I have had one panic attack so far this year. It happens out of the blue, and without any warning. It's a sudden, overwhelming feeling like I'm going to die, even though there is no physical or real threat to my life.

5. I hate tardiness. That's the japanese side of me. This is what I was taught - If you arrive EARLY, you are ON TIME. If you arrive ON TIME, you are LATE and disrespectful. If you arrive LATE, you are completely disrespectful and must beg forgiveness.

6. One of my life-goals is complete - I've read War and Peace. The other life-goal I have is to learn my native languages of Chamorro and Japanese. I'm doing these VERY SLOWLY, and kind of haphazardly. It will probably take my whole life :-P

7. I miss playing the drums - I'd love to buy a drumset, but I don't have space for it at home :-(

8. I love working the 3-11 shift - go to bed late, wake up late :-D

9. I have at least 40 completed, original songs, composed by me since high school. I haven't played many of them in years, so I might not remember how!

10. My favorite song out of those 40 is called "Dreamer" - it started out as an instrumental, then I added lyrics to it. The first line is "I wish that I could die". I did a very, very low budget recording of it, so that I wouldn't forget how it goes.

11. My brother and I had an idea back in high school about a cartoon - based on our boonie dog, Mr. Popo (he's still alive and kicking!) - and we even made 3 theme songs for this unrealized cartoon. We had some funny ideas for it :-D We wanted to make cartoon episodes using flash animation, but flash was too difficult to learn, so it never came to life :-(

12. I mainly watch these channels on TV - HGTV, G4TV, TLC.

13. I watch and read these on a weekly basis (via manga and anime) - (1) Naruto, (2) Bleach.

14. My home page is www.sabete.org ^_^

15. I love Duty Free TV on G4TV because of the japanese shows Ninja Warrior and Unbeatable Banzuke.
