Kendama!

KENDAMA

It's a traditional wooden japanese toy that tests your skills. I wish I was as skilled as the guy in the following video. I just recently bought a simple kendama from the Goody's $1.50 store, and so far I'm only able to catch the ball into the biggest cup :-P I gave it to Justin, hoping that he could develop some hand-eye skills...so far, he doesn't really get how to play with it. I need to show him this video:

Mad skills. I'm jealous.

So sick of being sick

I've been sick since New Year's Day. It sucks man. I've been down with Acute Gastroenteritis (diarrhea, nausea and vomiting). Then when I thought that was clearing up, I went back to work for 1 day, but still felt all queasy and unsettled with my stomach. The day after was a day-off for me, but I discovered I was ill with something new - some viral illness which caused pain and swelling of my left salivary gland. To be safe, the doctor ordered me to stay at home for more than a week, so they can rule out if I have Mumps. Yeah...mumps - the thing I was vaccinated for many many eons ago as a child. They said I was high risk for everything, working at the hospital and all. So I humored them.

I've been out of work since. The lab results regarding Mumps will not be out for another week and a half - they're done in Hawaii. But, I'm still not able to completely graduate to the real solid food yet. I tried - I tried so hard - but it seems like every time I want to go back to my normal diet,
but body tells me NO.

I've been having severe epigastric pain since Saturday, but luckily it's only every other day I feel it (so far) - but it really hurts. It's probably the worst pain I've felt, EVER. And the doctor hasn't a clue as to what the hell is causing it, 'cause all of my other labs are perfectly NORMAL.

This morning, again, I woke up with that epigastric pain. Just when I thought I was getting better, that pain has to come back. The doctor was entertaining acid reflux or heart burn, and I've tried pepto-bismol and that shit don't work. But the doctor didn't prescribe me anything else - just told me to slowly increase my food to the solids...stay on mostly liquids and soups for now.

So...It's a good thing I'm out of work until next Monday - my body is seriously fighting back, and I hate it right now. I've been to the doctor three times within a week, and every time I'm weighed, I'm 2 pounds lighter. I can't eat what I want to eat. My stomach feels like shit right now. And I'm scared to get another attack of that damn epigastric pain - 'cause that shit HURTS.

*sigh*

I want to get better already :-(
