Life is good ^_^
I'm still a little bit tired from my whole vacation (got back on the 26th), but I'm feeling good overall. There's lots to say, I don't know exactly where to start :-P I'll be back at work tomorrow (the 29th), although I don't know how that's gonna go - I've been out of work for 1 month - so I'm thinking maybe my nursing skills are a little rusty :-P And, I've become so used to just being a bum and enjoying myself that going back to a work schedule and stress might just kill me :-P But, we'll see...I'll let you know how I do...
So...my vacation was a blast. There's so much to do in the Philippines! If you can survive long distance traveling and hella-bumpy roads, you can see some amazing things and places ^_^ For the first few days I was stricken with some kind of stomach bug - I self-diagnosed myself as having gastritis (stomach inflammation) - I didn't have the runs, but I just always felt queasy, and I did have a fever for 2 nights in a row. I think the shock of foreign tummy bugs was the culprit. I also suffered from heat exhaustion from time to time during the trip. It's just too damn hot in Cavite! (well, my visit was during the start of summer over there). Plus, the air quality is very poor - pretty much polluted, and there's dust and dirt everywhere, so most times I felt so icky that only a shower could make me feel human again :-P
And...my boyfriend...I fell in love with him again when I first saw him at the airport ^_^ I thought to myself, "Wow...that's my boyfriend? He's so handsome in real-life! Wow!" Arnold was a gentleman and a very nice guy. His family treated me well, and I felt so welcome. They are a poor family, but they are happy, and very close to eachother, and I love that about them! I visited many extended family members, and I cannot remember everyone's names :-P And Nanay and Tatay's house (mom and dad) was small but cozy.
I stayed at 3 different hotels during the trip, and I have to say that the best hotel was the one in Baguio - called The Ridgewood Residence. It's fairly new construction, it's a beautiful cottage atmosphere with warm stone and pine wood construction. Everything is open air, since Baguio is pretty much air-con environment ^_^ I was freezing in Baguio, but it's such a beautiful and colorful place! You barely break a sweat, and the air quality is a little bit better and more fresher (except for the exhaust coming out of cars on the roads).
I had so much fun throughout my stay, and Arnold made my trip so memorable ^_^ He's a great guy, and I'm lucky to have him. And guess what...
I'm ENGAGED!
My man is poor, so my engagement ring isn't expensive or anything (it actually was very cheap ^_^)
but I love that at least he gave me a ring, to promise that he will marry me ^_^
So...now I will have to figure out how to bring his cute butt over here to Guam. I've got to apply or do something with Immigration...blah blah blah....to bring him over as a fiancee (sp?).
Oh...one more thing I found out....
On Saturday the 24th, Val sent me a text message saying I got mail from the Guam Nursing Board. I told her to open it, and guess what....
I PASSED THE NCLEX EXAM!!!
I'M NOW OFFICIALLY A REGISTERED NURSE!!!
Life is pretty good right now, eh? I'm just missing my babe...but I'll try to go back to the Philippines to see him later this year...I've got to beg my boss to let me go :-P
