feeling...I don't know...
I was gonna continue blogging with "Some things that I've been thinking over...part 2", but I've actually forgotten what I'm supposed to say in that, so...nevermind...
Recent developments - I had my very first shot of tequila this past Saturday night at a bar called "A Class" - it's somewhere near St. John's in upper Tumon. There was a live band there, playing a lot of filipino cover songs. I had a blast. The tequila burned my chest so much - it's pure ass fire! I went with my coworkers to this place after work to celebrate cinco de mayo.
What else...my doctors are leaving island. It's sad. My thyroid specialist - Dr. May Reyes is leaving for the US. I picked up my medical records from her office already. My psychiatrist, Dr. Archana Leon Guerrero, is leaving this summer - I've picked up my discharge summary from her and gave a copy to my primary doc (an internist), Dr. Sebastian Kallingal, at PMC clinic.
So, now Dr. K has to be the one to be prescribing all my meds - meaning my thyroid meds, my psycho meds, and whatever else I need.
Lately, my hand rash has been flaring really bad. I'm already using special nitrile gloves - already supplied by employee health at the hospital. And still, my hands break out all swollen, red, itchy, and dry, cracked skin...it's just a fucking mess, and the shit hurts!
So, I'm supposed to turn in workman's comp forms - you know my ADD - I still have the papers with me and I don't know where to go to turn them in, so yeah...but at least I let some of the nursing supervisors know, and my head nurse and nursing director know my pain...we'll figure out a way to deal with my rashy hands.
For now, I've been given a Decadron shot in the ass in the ER, I've been on Prednisone for the past 4 days, and I'm taking my good 'ol Benadryl as needed.
I'm also applying a cream - Betamethasone - another steroid medication directly to the rash twice a day - that's been helping a bit too.
What the hell else is going on?
Well...I think maybe my thyroid is off again somehow - I'm starting to feel more fatigue and my carpal tunnel came back with a vengeance - I mean swollen ass fingers to the point where I can't make a fist, and painful wrist movements.
Shit...I'm so sick of being sick!
I think I've said that before....
So, I'm supposed to go and do labs, but I can't get myself up in the morning to go to DLS and have them drawn, 'cuz I'm just too damned tired.
Well...I'll try again tomorrow. There's always tomorrow...
AND,
Dr. K switched my Paxil over to the controlled release Paxil - called Paxil CR.
I've been on this CR preparation for the past 4 days. I'm just today starting to feel very slight withdrawal effects - the dizzy head and vertigo...a little more increased anxiety and worry...
I actually needed to take a Xanax last night to help me sleep.
*sigh*

Feeling like crap sucks ass. And we're BOTH on prednisone! We should start a club.
I'm sure things will get better. Just take it one day at a time. And I know you got out of bed to do labs. I talked to you on the phone! haha

Hehehe...I like that prednisone club idea ^_^
I just finished my last day of prednisone therapy - and I feel a difference already without it - my hands felt a little swollen again today, whereas when I started the prednisone there was no swelling...
Hmmmm...I don't want to have to rely on meds just to have normal hands :-(
At least the Betamethasone cream still reduces the inflammation and redness.
But my hands are like death valley dude...dry, cracked, no moisture whatsoever.
I can at least be thankful that my hands didn't get infected with anything...my Lord, I work in germ-paradise, I can only imagine the amount of bugs I'm exposed to everyday at work.

Wearing some of your nitrile gloves at night after smothering Vaseline all over your hands might help the dryness ... just wear it for a little while. Like an hour or something. Too long and you'll start sweating. That also works for dry feet.
