Yappari...
...Chopin wa motto mo aisuru.
(Of course...I love Chopin the most)
Here's a quote of his that I found today:
"I am gay on the outside...but inside something gnaws at me; some presentiment, anxiety, dreams - or sleeplessness - melancholy, indifference - desire for life, and the next instant, desire for death; some kind of sweet peace, some kind of numbness, absent-mindedness..."
And here's one of my favorite nocturnes by Chopin, as interpreted by Arthur Rubinstein:

I've always loved this piece from Chopin... well I guess Chopin in general. I should listen to it more often. It's funny I hear this piece from one of those Baby Einstein videos, and when I hear it, I get flashbacks of the video.

I think there's a little Einstein show on TV too, right? Whenever Justin is over for the weekends, he catches that show and it actually teaches them music dynamics along with famous classical music (the episode of Jack and the Beanstalk I think) - like forte, pianissimo, etc. - I think it's really cool ^_^
I've been in a classical mood lately - I've got all of Chopin's work now on my hard drive - I'm just picking and choosing which ones I like best for my iPod playlist - and this piece is definitely in the top 5 :-D
Classical music is good for the brains ^_^ Orchestral music just sends my mind into a whirlwind - I try to single out each instrument and learn their melody and then zoom back out to the whole sound, all at once - it's crazy, but fascinating how different parts all come together and FIT.
With Chopin's piano, it's the same effect for me - I can't understand, for the life of me, how fingers are capable of such individual, yet cohesive melodies. And the left hand melodies from the right hand melodies; how they mesh - I find that my brain tries to split in half to hear each hand's notes.
It's hard to explain :-D
