Grand Theft Auto 4!
What a game! This definitely is the best game of 2008 so far (we'll have to wait for Metal Gear Solid 4 to come out to see if it's also as kick-ass as this). I can't help myself - I spend about 90% of my free time playing it...this blogging and internet surfing deal I'm doing now is the other 10% of free time :-P
So...would I let my Boogie Man play it? MOST DEFINITELY NOT. This game is really intended for a MATURE/ADULT audience. Seriously. In the previous GTA series games, the player is able to pick up a prostitute on the side of the road, at a certain time of night, in the right kind of car...and what was shown was just the car kind of rocking and moving every which way (with voice sound effects of course). But this new game takes it to another level - you actually see the prostitute climb over onto the driver and do some "humping" action...along with the car rocking and the voices. Now, how rated XXX is that?
Bloody graphics. Literally - blood splashing on the screen and bloody show on the faces of those you are beating up. Language - oh so colorful language :-D Definitely not for children's ears. The game environment is highly detailed - the buildings, the streets, the people. The only thing keeping it from feeling real for me is the lack of pets and children roaming around. Well...I guess in the GTA universe children are protected in some other quiet and peaceful place :-P
Nevermind the falling/dead guy....just look at that view!
I give this game 5 out of 5 stars...it was definitely worth the wait, and I'm enjoying the gameplay so much. If you have a chance to play it (and don't mind all the violence and shit), definitely try it out. It's available for both the PS3 and the XBOX 360.
